    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Major Gifts Manager will design, develop and implement the major gift program. The position will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift donors, as well as identifying new prospects. Prospects include both individual and corporate partners. An ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate the organization’s mission is key. The position will be expected to energize team members, tell the mission of the organization with excellent narrative and persevere to favorable outcomes and goals.

    Proven track record in successfully acquiring gifts of $5,000 and more.
    Help our benefactors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with the organization and its mission and vision.
    Secure major gifts at the $5,000 and above level with the goal of raising a minimum of $890,000 annually.
    Support and drive the Endowment Fund goal of raising $5M in 5 years.
    Ensure the quality of data in the Donor Management System is entered and tracked to enhance cultivation strategies with donors and prospects, including moves management processes.
    Manage portfolio of 75-125 donors and prospects.
    Work with the Development Director/Supervisor to align efforts and establish annual plans and goals.
    Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the board and other staff with benefactor solicitation (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications).
    Fulfill weekly and monthly KPI goals as discussed with the Director of Development.
    Acknowledge major donors through public and/or private recognition. Ensure formal Acknowledgement Letters are sent consistent with established procedures.
    Prepare proposals for major gift requests. Customize as appropriate.
    Participate and support with Development Department events and activities.
    Track and report progress on donor funds raised using specific Key Performance Indicators including by Amount Categories, Monthly Raised, Year-to-Date Raised, Balance to Raise, Average Raised per Donor, etc..
    Performs all other duties, as assigned by Supervisor.
    Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, Sales, or Marketing, Preferred


    Experience: 3 years of major gift cultivation
    Proven track record of cultivating and acquiring major gifts of $5,000 and above.
    2 plus years of experience with a donor cultivation.
    Experience working with a donor management system, applications and database.
    2 plus years of program planning and management.

    Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working in Donor management systems, applications, database and reporting, preferred.
