The Senior Development Officer position will focus on developing, managing and soliciting a portfolio of 150 donors and prospective donors.
Qualifications summary
- Personal passion for Seventh-day Adventist Christian higher education with a belief in the mission, principles and values Andrews University promotes.
- Bachelor's degree: Master's degree preferred. Two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with donors.
- Knowledge of development principles, fundraising strategies and ethics, and familiarity with "moves management" donor tracking systems.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develops, manages, and solicits an active portfolio of 150 donors and prospective donors.
- Writes proposals, follow-up letters, introductory letters and prepares background information and materials for cultivation and solicitation activities.
- Prepares and enters reports of monthly donor contact into donor data system.
- Plans and maintains visiting travel schedule of a minimum of 10 days per month.
- Works closely with Advancement colleagues in Alumni, Development, Planned Giving and Trust Services and the Howard Performing Arts Center to fulfill the goals specified in Andrews University's Current Strategic Plan
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical demands
Ability to travel for multiple days handling the stresses of the road with patient endurance.
Work environment
This position will be both in an office setting and remotely as one works in their assigned geographical territory.
