Major Gifts Manager manages and implements a philanthropic gift program to nurture and solicit relationships with corporate, institutional, and major donors. Develops a portfolio of existing and potential donors and a strategy to enhance and extend relationships to generate philanthropic revenue. Being a Major Gifts Manager organizes events and meetings with prospects to raise awareness of the organization's mission and highlight accomplishments and ongoing funding needs. Makes regular personal contact with key contributors to strengthen relations with the organization. Additionally, Major Gifts Manager oversees proposal preparation and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Summary of the Role
The Major Gifts Advisor (MGA) plays a pivotal role in enhancing donor relationships and increasing advancement revenue for Mel Trotter Ministries. By focusing on engagement and communication, the MGA will ensure that every donor receives timely and positive interactions that lead to recurring contributions for both operational and campaign initiatives. Key impact areas include donor relationship management, fundraising strategy implementation, data reporting, team collaboration and communication, and special campaigns.

Job Plan
· Maintain solid communication with donors.
· Develop and cultivate relationships with assigned donors.
· Complete proposals and key donor correspondence as needed.
· Support with event sponsorships and strategies.
· Work collaboratively with the team to ensure donor awareness and engagement.
· Coordinate with the advancement team as it applies to relationship donor development and management.
· Research and identify sources of support, proactively seek opportunities to generate new donor proposals based on interests and alignment with Mel Trotter. Ministries.
· Maintain the integrity of the donor database with current and accurate information.
· Generate creative ideas to help sustain fundraising efforts.
· Identify funding opportunities and support the proposal submission process by working collaboratively with the Grant Writer as needed.
· Meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics and goals.
· Work with leadership to set attainable and realistic metric goals.
· Work to increase awareness of Mel Trotter Mission's full scope of services.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree, skilled knowledge of charitable giving
· Five years' proven track record initiating and cultivating donor relationships, resulting in exceptional fundraising results
· Highly connected in local donor circles and non-profit organizations, including consistent personal history of giving
· Excellent interpersonal skills, and professional verbal and written communication
· Productive independent worker and positive team participant with excellent relationship building skills
· Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and timeliness
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and donor database platform use
· Ability to gather, analyze and utilize donor, numerical, and financial data
