Management Development Manager leads and directs the creation of a leadership development strategy and programs that align with strategic business imperatives and develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Identifies, designs, and develops frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Management Development Manager aligns training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments to the leadership development strategy. Develops approaches to engage individuals in well-defined and ongoing career development. Additionally, Management Development Manager define career paths and supporting training and development programs. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training to engage and develop the workforce. Conducts periodic succession planning and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Creates slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Management Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Qualifications –
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Master’s Degree Preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction management and development
Experience with Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Construction Management Software
Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks under strict deadlines
Un jour dans la vie de (A day in the life of) –
The ideal candidate will have experience heading the development process from start to finish including financial analysis, market research, due diligence, entitlements, raising equity and securing debt, design, approval, bidding, value-engineering, contract negotiation, budget and schedule monitoring, and leasing/sales.
Analyze real estate holdings to assist in forming a real estate strategy
Manage entitlement process including all governmental approvals, zoning site plan approvals, usage changes, etc.
Develop plans, schedules and entitlements for completion of development projects in key US markets
Coordinate contractors and design consultants working on various phases of multiple projects
Oversee performance of all contractors and JV Partners, review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure all specifications and regulations are being followed
Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and obtain necessary permits and licenses
Develop, track and control construction schedules and associated costs to complete projects on time and within budget
Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, and project costs
Maintain project budgets and issue reports on a regular basis
Assist acquisitions team with due diligence for potential new acquisitions
