Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion-dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, manufacturing and finance, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement scalable solutions.
This position will partner with the team that is building Kuiper ground stations and has a global impact. Success in this role requires ability to partner with and influence business owners. This candidate will be highly analytical, detail oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision making in a rapidly evolving business. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives, various business units, and multiple stakeholders across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
- Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and provide data driven financial guidance to the business partners.
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders.
- Analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Responsible for delivering monthly/quarterly financial close, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and consolidations utilizing financial systems and advanced excel functions.
- Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management (business and finance).
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Participate in finance initiatives, including but not limited to process improvements, ad hoc analyses, and preparation of periodic reporting activities.
- Improve finance processes, scale existing solutions, create new solutions as required based on stakeholder needs.
- Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs. Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where the data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
