Position Summary
As a Sanitation Supervisor you will focus on food sanitation processes including continuous
improvement plans, training, retaining, and sanitation procedures. You will be responsible for
directing all activities necessary for cleaning and sanitizing for the production, packaging, dry
and cold storage areas, and all production equipment daily in multiple areas of the facility and
ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating
Procedures), HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Controls Points), FDA (Food and Drug
administration). GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), as well as all safety policies and
procedures and any other established policies and requirements necessary. Hands on role!
Working directly with team while setting up SOP's.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees the Industrial Hygiene crew to meet standards to all Sanitation Standard
Operating Procedures
- Hands on person with ability to lead and train the team in proper procedures.
- Aware of time restraints and able to organize team to maximize efficiency and keep
personnel on task.
- 3 years of experience in Food Safety sanitation in food production industry
- Responsible for scheduling and directing industrial hygiene team on weekend for
sanitation/janitorial duties.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and thoroughness of cleaning and ensure
safety policies are followed.
- Performing daily inspections of the manufacturing facility and reporting irregularities to
Sanitation Manager
- Coach team members on areas of improvement
- Hold team members accountable if needed.
- Ensure plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time.• Disassembles, sanitizes machines, processing equipment, and other equipment
as required and reassembles all equipment and machinery for production runs.
- Follow all company policies and procedures as well as the GMPs (Good
Manufacturing Practices)
- Follow company guidelines regarding occupational safety including wearing
appropriate PPE and following LOTO.
- Report any unsafe or hazards work condition or concerns to plant supervision.
- Communicate suggestions for improvement.
- Work in hot and wet processing areas, work in loud processing and packaging
areas also cold warehouse.
- Maintain neat/clean/safe work area to prevent injury or product contamination.
- Dilute chemicals to correct PPM.
- Maintains Master Sanitation Schedule up to date.
- Responsible for leading and directing Sanitors with their daily job assignments.
- Assist with Environmental and ATP swabs.
- Delegate work assignments and follow up that is done to the standard required.
- Prepare for and participate in 3rd Party and Regulatory audits.
- Daily walk through and document items that need immediate attention, with
emphasis on potential food safety issues
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to learn, understands, and consistently follows sanitation procedures and
methods
- Understanding of cleaning practices, cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, and
cleaning tools
- Understanding of assembly/disassembly of equipment and machinery and the
importance thereof
- Must have schedule flexibility and be available for overtime, night, and
weekends.
Position Qualifications:
- 3 plus years of manufacturing experience in the food industry
- Previous experience as a Food industry sanitation preferred.• Must be a self-motivated and able to keep projects moving forward under stressful
conditions. Changing priorities will be a persistent factor.
- Able to read documents such as MSDS Safety rules and procedures manuals
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English and Spanish, bilingual preferred.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel preferred
