Responsibilities
- You will serve as the Managerial and Grant Senior Accountant and play a key role in helping to manage the Agency’s financial reporting, budget management, and grant administration in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- You will review, analyze, and evaluate the budgets, expenditures and forecasts for the Agency, and manage non-recurring appropriations and capital projects.
- You will provide award planning, implementation, and post-award support for Agency grants, as well as monitoring grant budgets and expenditures.
- You will implement state and federal budgetary policies and procedures.
- You will prepare and submit grant reports and documentation, as required.
- You will participate in the preparation of state and federal annual and year-end reports and prepare the Agency’s Indirect Cost Proposal.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking. (A combination of education, relevant training, and/or experience may be considered in substitution for the bachelor's degree, upon approval by Human Resources.)
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in governmental finance management and/or accounting, general ledger management, auditing, grant accounting, and grant monitoring procedures
- Certification as a Certified Professional Accountant and/or Certified Government Financial Officer.
- Must be proficient in SCEIS finance modules (Funds Management and Grants Management).
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data and reports.
- Ability to make independent decisions concerning agency financial, budgeting and grant needs.
- Must have excellent customer service, information technology and reporting skills.
- Must be strongly self-motivated.
- Ability to exercise and display sound judgment.
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- Occasional travel and weekend assignments.
