Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries. We have an available opportunity for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant at our Candler, Florida office. This position is responsible for identifying, collecting and analyzing data to determine costs of raw material, landed cost, labor and manufacturing overhead to assist with product pricing. Other responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting system that ensures accurate costing
- Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs
- Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
- Report on variances related to labor, material consumption and manufacturing overhead
- Assists in physical inventory valuation and auditing
- Support BOM costing
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies related to cost accounting and financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, international accounting standards and Landed Cost Accounting is required
- Significant hands-on experience using an ERP system
- Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Must be a team player who also works well independently
