Overview:

What You'll Do:

1. Determines the best manufacturing methods and processes for our products, including equipment, tooling, materials and facilities. 
2. Assists with plant layout, design and workflow processes. 
3. Develops and implements written work instructions, flow charts and other visual aids to streamline and standardize work procedures in a team-based environment. 
4. Recommends procedures that will result in cost savings, quality improvement and maximization of production, using kaizen and other state-of-the-art techniques. 
5. Develop plans around automating assembly processes.
6. Assists with supervisory and employee training as needed.
7. Conducts time and motion studies and gathers other relevant data to assist with efficiency studies.
8. Actively supports Pelican’s Quality Objectives and contributes to Quality Management System activities as assigned.
9. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader.

What You'll Need:

1. Must have in-depth knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and procedures.
2. BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, with 3 or more year’s on-the-job experience.
3. Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills, and be detail-oriented. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology to a green or black belt level an advantage.
4. Understand and apply value stream and lean manufacturing principles.
5. Supply chain management experience and/or systems integration.
6. Familiarity with 3D design software.
7. Knowledge of basic electronic principles and advantage.
8. Knowledge of pneumatics.
9. Knowledge of hydraulics
10. Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
11. Must be proficient with Excel or other spreadsheet software; familiarity with MRP systems preferred.
12. Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified QA & Mfg. Engineer Manager
13. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
14. Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
15. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
