Serpa Packaging Solutions is seeking an Manufacturing Engineer/ Drafter. In this role you’ll be responsible for the creation of items, and  prints in the company’s ERP system “Syteline”. Managing the process within the Engineering department and working with the production side to ensure higher efficiency. The responsibilities for a Drafter are to support senior design engineers and the sales department by creating floor plan drawings, maintaining technical part drawings, assembly drawings, and updating/maintaining bills of material listings.

Requirements:

• Utilize the company’s ERP system “Syteline” to create items, update prints from the production and track parts side for our ERP system (routing/finishing).
• Verifying information in the FAB list from Engineering releases, ensuring best prioritization of each job.
• Determining machine types per prints, to ensure the most effective processes are utilized for each machine.
• Improve release procedures of engineering department for higher efficiency.
• Lead the communication with Machine shop department to ensure that drawings for customers/vendors are readily available
• Continuously update the machine shop standard information within the engineering department for the greatest outputs.
• Engineering detail part prints, creating/updating Assembly prints and archiving engineering prints.
• Constantly reviewing the lead times on parts, and ensuring to always communicate to the department manager to ensure awareness is created when long lead for parts are in place. Once recognized, marking that part per standard.
• Ability to simplify design to reduce machining time and efficiency, when possible, removing chamfers and radius in parts. Troubleshooting parts that cannot be machined.

Desired Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or technical school
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet timelines on deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Mechanical aptitude
• CAD design experience
• Preferred knowledge of design of packaging and/or automated equipment

Base Salary Range: $65,000 – $90,000
