PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides technical support to plant operation including leading capital projects, process improvement, implementing new technology, bench marking best in class facilities and implementing best practices in process, equipment and workflow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
A. Assists in the development of process flows for new products, participates in Manufacturing Feasibility Reports.
B. Determines machine parameters and tooling requirements for new and existing products.
C. Supports the development and revision of process specifications and operation instruction sheets.
D. Conducts capability studies on new and existing products and machinery to ensure quality and productivity.
E. Implements new and revised technologies to improve quality and productivity.
F. Determines areas in which cost savings might exist and implements measures to reduce costs.
G. Develops procedures to maximize efficiency of machine tooling.
H. Coordinates capital projects for equipment to be used in production.
I. Follows the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System guidelines daily.
J. Involvement in CIT & Champion team activities, utilizing 8D, DOE, and other quality tools.
K. Implements methods to standardize machine tooling, focusing on reducing cost of quality (i.e., reducing stockroom inventories).
L. Coordinate projects with contractors and vendors involving equipment tests and expediting orders.
M. Develops effective relationships with external suppliers to maximize new product evaluation and development (i.e., grinding wheels, coolants, diamond rolls, etc.)
N. Conducts training classes on procedures, processes, and tooling enhancements.
DIMENSIONS:
Record any measurable statistics which your position impacts such as production expenses, maintenance expenses, sales volumes, payroll costs, capital expenditures, research budgets, cost of purchases, value of inventories controlled, employees supervised (direct and indirect).

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

· Mentor and develop maintenance personnel.
· Assist other plants/facilities with technical problems.
· Applicant must be capable of self-managing assigned project tasks.
· Preferred experience in data driven analysis and problem-solving methods.
