The Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MFET) assists Design Ready Controls as a technical resource for controls panel production. The MFET is responsible for design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of manufacturing processes to maximize production efficiency and cost to ensure quality control panels and related products. The MFET will oversee all phases of panel production to assure they meet both customer requirements and Design Ready Control standards.
Primary responsibilities:
- Work with various departments to identify any special requirement, tooling, CAD tools, and/or investments that may be required on new designs
- Work with Customer and Sales Engineering teams to fully understand design and provide technical support
- Provide production support including but not limited to, tooling, workstations, work instructions, 6S
- Assist in design and installation of new production and assembly processes, in conjunction with engineers and/or senior technicians to meet cost, efficiency and quality targets
- Support existing operations and suggest new methods and processes. Maximizes safety, quality, and efficiency through, but not limited to the application of Lean tools such as Process Mapping, 6S, and visual management
- Work with quality department to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis
- Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization
- Basic equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to peers
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
- Provide technical support and oversight for projects
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, knowledge and experience:
- Associates degree in related technical field or 1-3 years related technical experience
- Solid Modeling CAD experience preferred
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills
- High mechanical aptitude
- Hands on manufacturing or repair experience is preferred
- General knowledge of materials, tooling, machine tools, and manufacturing processes
