Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Definition
Manufacturing Engineer performs a diverse variety of tasks, including designing fixturing for Robotic Weld Cells, programming Robotic Weld cells, writing process instructions or standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for work cells, training production on new processes that are implemented, and solving production issues at workstations. In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer performs a variety of office tasks, errands, and special projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing and implementing Robotic Welding Process
- Programing Robotic Weld Cells
- Programing other Industrial robots
- Designing and implementing production process
- Trouble shooting and refining current production processes, Progress Mfg. current process include:
- CNC Machining, Industrial Robotic systems, Robotic Welding Systems, Sawing, Drilling, Milling, Punching, Forming, Welding, Cleaning, and Painting
- Writing / creating workstation Standard Operating Procedures
Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or related field required.
Experience:
- Prior experience welding and/or experience with Fanuc robotics.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing facility, with two years recent experience preferred.
Skills
- Must know Solid Works CAD Software
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Organization skills, especially data entry, filing research preparation, and meeting deadlines
- Computer skills, including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
- Creative, self-motivating individual with the ability to take a project from inception to completion
- Practical knowledge of production processes particularly sawing, shearing, punching, bending, and welding
