Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Facilitate compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) and Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines. Focus on prevention and provide advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations. Promote safety awareness among all employees and establish a safe workplace according to government standards.
Job Responsibilities:
· Onboarding new employees by instructing/training to the proper safety procedures and revision levels.
· Weekly production building and magazine inspections, to include record keeping, N.E.W. limits and compatibility of explosive check.
· Maintaining personal protection equipment (PPE) inventory, ordering and record keeping.
· Conducting monthly safety team meetings, along with site wide updates/procedural meetings as required.
· Understanding and compliance with the applicable requirements of DoD 4145.26-M Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives.
· Maintain all safety training records/logs/documents in an organized and accessible manner.
· Coordinate all training i.e. DOT, HAZWOPER, IATA, etc.
· Review and update standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions for OSHA and Action’s quality system AS9100D/ISO 9001:2015 as needed.
· Quarterly audits with Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA).
· Follow up on an work related injuries and corrective actions to prevent any reoccurrences.
· Review and update MSDS’s and SDS’s as needed.
· Review OSHA 300 logs and regulations as needed.
· Coordination w/ Human Resources & outside representatives for the purpose of supporting Workers Compensation Insurance claims.
· Responsible for Process Safety Management (PSM) every 3 years, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) every 5 years.
Education & Qualification Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Safety Management, Health and/or Risk Management.
· Minimum five (5) years experience in safety supervisory position.
· Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not necessary.
· Experience working with hazardous materials/substances preferred but not necessary
