Research Analyst – Civic Institute

Location: Erie

Reports To: Director of Civic Institute
Full/Part Time: Full Time/ 12 Month

SUMMARY

The Research Analyst collects data and creates reports, researches, and develops grant
applications and conducts evaluations of programs based on the request of the Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collect data for projects assigned by the Director.
• Write comprehensive reports using collected data; make presentations.
• Write grants and oversee grants that are obtained.
• Develop and conduct evaluations of programs as assigned.
• Provide technical assistance and facilitation to various outside organizations and

collaborative groups.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree preferred
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Computer skills required including Microsoft Office, Windows, and SPSS
• Able to coordinate and organize work assignments
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Program evaluation experience
• Statistical analysis background a plus
• Experience with social service and government agencies preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must be able to work independently under limited supervision while incorporating the ability to
effectively work with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Computer proficiency with
experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express, etc.) is required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
