Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Description

     

    TITLE: Communication and Marketing Coordinator    

       

    PAY GRADE: Administrator Salary Scale

     

    REPORTS TO: Chief Communications Officer

     

    JOB GOAL: To ensure effective and efficient communication to all audiences of the Johnston County Public School System through the production of quality multimedia content.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ideal candidate is proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Apps: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator, as well as AP Style, and social media.
    • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, video production or a related field required
    • At least 3 years of experience in a communication-related position is preferred
    • Ability to function independently with minimal oversight

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate district communication projects and assist with overseeing department operations
    • Create and manage communication campaigns, including content for social media channels and news media outlets
    • Develop strategic communication plans related to marketing, news, and social media
    • Oversee website content for various school system departments
    • Coordinate communication professional development districtwide
    • Manage district social media accounts
    • Maintain archives of all district and social media accounts
    • Manage archival of news articles relating to the school system
    • Produce and distribute multimedia content for traditional and modern platforms
    • Create/design graphics for media packages and videos
    • Assist in set design and location scouting. Set up and position equipment for production
    • Assist with photography activities for the school system
    • Operate all equipment, gear and software vital to the video production process. Includes cameras, audio capture devices, lighting, computers, and editing software
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry standards and evolving technology
    • Collaborate in the development of scripts, storyboards, and detailed execution plans, including project schedules, technical requirements, and talent coordination
    • Assist with the planning and implementation of school system special events, including those on weekends, evenings, and holidays
    • Active participant in JCPS Communication Team
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry audio/visual equipment.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
    • Ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence.
    • Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion. 

     

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must possess a valid NC driver’s license.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, teachers, students, administrators, community leaders, agency representatives and others.
