  • Position Description

    The Marketing and Communications Specialist provides primary management of communications for the Indiana Bar Foundation through website content, social media, newsletter, press releases, and other marketing materials. This position will ensure communications are consistent, engaging, and in alignment with the Foundation’s mission and will work closely with all other departments at the Foundation to ensure marketing and communications needs are met in an efficient and timely manner. This is a 40-hour per week position and occasionally requires some evening or weekend hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Write a variety of content to support communications and marketing efforts, including but not limited to newsletters, website copy, social media posts, and press releases in collaboration with staff across all departments.
    • Assist with creating and executing a marketing and communications plan annually with measurable objectives.
    • Pitch stories to the press, partner publications, and influencers, build strategic partnerships with the media, and report on earned media placement.
    • Update and audit website content regularly for SEO and to ensure messaging is consistent.
    • Manage social media platforms and create relevant content for respective audiences, including video and graphic design creation.
    • Design publications, advertisements, and other marketing materials.
    • Monitor and evaluate analytics, create reports detailing the successes and opportunities to improve content, and generate new strategies for success.
    • Use Salesforce’s contact management system to create and send mass emails and newsletters. 
    • Plan and manage the design and content of marketing templates to be used throughout the organization.
    • Assist with marketing event functions, including photography, designing invitations and programs, and writing scripts and run-of-shows.
    • Serve as the liaison between the Foundation and external partners on marketing initiatives.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience, Abilities, and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or other related work
    • 2-4 years marketing and communications experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Canva, Zoom, WordPress, and a contact management system (Pardot preferred)
    • A creative, self-starter who is able to work collaboratively and professionally with staff, board members, committee members, volunteers, donors, and vendors
    • Ability to accomplish projects independently and within a team
    • Exceptional time management, project management, and multi-tasking abilities

    Hours and Benefits

    This is a full-time position scheduled to work a standard work week (Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week).

    Salary for this position is commensurate with education and job experience. The Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance premium coverage for medical, dental, vision, and long-term disability, employer HSA contributions, 10% employer 401(k) contributions, and three weeks paid time off.
