Being a Marketing Director oversees critical marketing functions, including market research, communications, and product planning. Utilizes technology and data to Identify changes in the competitive environment and enable responsive marketing activities. Additionally, Marketing Director develops budgets, resources, and teams to execute short-term and long-term marketing plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Who We Are: Lexington Sporting Club is a professional soccer club with a men’s team competing in USL League One and a women’s team set to launch in August of 2024. In addition to the professional teams, Lexington Sporting Club is comprised of a youth club with over 1,000 players within its youth and academy systems, a pre-professional women’s team in the USL W League, two indoor soccer facilities, a $20 million soccer complex, and a soccer-specific stadium and performance facility coming in 2024. The club is a community-oriented organization focused on providing opportunities for youth development, fostering competition, and delivering exceptional professional soccer experiences.

    Position Overview: The Marketing Director will be responsible for carrying out multiple duties within the marketing department, fulfilling strategic objectives & responsibilities, such as executing campaigns to drive fan engagement and game-day experiences.

    This is a full-time, exempt position with competitive benefits and paid time off. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends for home matches and other events, as needed.

    Essential Duties:

    • Fulfill strategic marketing objectives and responsibilities.
    • Fulfill media buys including trafficking creative and copy in coordination with graphic designers.
    • Implement marketing campaigns utilizing Mailchimp, Meta, and our mobile apps, among other platforms, to properly engage with fans through their consumer journeys.
    • Managing the marketing budget and reconciliation process.
    • Captures, records and organizes data to develop new fans and drive brand knowledge.
    • Helps with oversight of theme nights and promotions for matches across all departments.
    • Research, plan and implement new game day experiences to improve the fan experience in conjunction with various other stakeholders in the organization.
    • Assists with game day activities such as execution of pre-game ceremonies, in-game activations and other marketing initiatives.
    • Responsible for facilitating donation inquiries and requests, including tracking and reporting of requests.
    • Coordinating with ticket sales department for staffing and planning offsite events in the community that result in data collection.
    • Innovating new ideas on how to get our brand in the community through poster distribution, promo items and more.
    • Work to recruit and manage interns.
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience working with professional sports teams or marketing is strongly preferred, but not required.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
    • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Able to present a positive and professional image of the organization.
    • Passionate about expanding community relations and brand.
    • Able to work individually and in a collaborative environment.
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary during the playing season.
    • Successful completion of a pre-employment comprehensive background check.
    • Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S.
