The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Master Data Management Lead in the Data Governance and Management Unit within the Research and Innovation Division. The Master Data Management Lead will be an integral part of the data governance strategy at DFS. They will be responsible for working with the Business Unit(s), enterprise Data Governance team, and Technology, among others, to drive enterprise data policy efforts. This role also plays a critical part in driving transformation of data, business processes and practices within DFS, in alignment with the overall enterprise-wide strategy. This role focuses on master data management and leading data governance projects.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Drives harmonization of Master Data processes across DFS to provide a common ‘look-across’ while also offering flexibility to meet BU-specific needs;
- Prioritizes and drives master data initiatives and business process change by influencing DFS divisions;
- Researches and reviews data quality practices across DFS;
- Leads targeted communication, change management, and training associated with Master Data Management to ensure adoption;
- Establishes and communicates Master Data Management best practices including people, processes, and technology;
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert on Master Data Management;
- Focuses on master data operational excellence, including advanced technologies, to optimize data value chain;
- Closely collaborates with the Chief Technology Officer to drive change and continuous improvement;
- Manages complex data projects of various sizes and in various stages;
- Obtains appropriate involvement from DFS divisions; extensively collaborates with BU Data Stewards, enterprise Data Governance team, and DFS data stakeholders;
- Contributes to enterprise data governance program’s metrics and reporting, as well as data governance documentation;
- Supervises DFS or contract staff as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.
