AgriNorthwest is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Coordinator to join our local the Agronomy team. The coordinator assists functions as lead person in the lab while performing and supervising daily analysis functions. This position is located in Plymouth, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Provide training and supervision, both technical and safety, for all lab technicians.
- Oversee routine set-up, analysis, and maintenance for automated analyzers.
- Log samples and generate slips; input and upload data for both lab results and research experiments.
- Generate soil, plant, and bruise analysis reports.
- Become a SME on all procedures for routine lab analysis and recognizes and reports problems with these analyses.
- Make all necessary reagents for chemical analyses.
- Coordinate with Field Sampling Manager to assure proper analysis of gathered samples.
- Support general office tasks including phone receptionist, word processing, filing, etc.
- Help with equipment maintenance, lab clean up, lawn and grounds care, field research activities (planting, weeding, fertilizing, harvest, sorting of potatoes, etc.), and other projects.
- Follow proper lab techniques, SDS sheets, safety apparel (PPE), safe handling of hazardous chemicals, QA/QC protocols, and operation of lab equipment.
- Champion a world-class safety culture by actively learning, applying, and promoting best-in-class safety processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- 2 years laboratory experience or college level chemistry.
- Valid in-state driver’s license.
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful.
- Understanding of agronomic practices desired.
- Strong computer and technical skills including basic database management and Microsoft tools.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the job and willing to work in outside weather conditions which includes hot, cold, and rain.
