Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About the Role:

    • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
    • Train plant quality control personnel
    • Perform plant quality control audits·
    • Communicate findings with quality control Manager and plant personnel
    • Advise management of abnormal quality control issues
    • Understand material specifications and operations affecting quality control of finished product
    • Utilize basic skills and knowledge required to perform testing and measuring techniques
    • Learn processing techniques and variables that affect performance and quality
    • Implement mix design changes as directed
    • Ability to cover multiple state area, travel estimated to 50 – 75% of workweek

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred
    • Several years of relevant experience in quality control within the concrete or construction industry.
    • Knowledge of concrete mix design, testing methods, and quality assurance processes.
    • Familiarity with relevant testing equipment and quality control tools.
    • Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and standards related to concrete.
    • Certifications such as ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification or other relevant industry certifications preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills to convey quality standards, provide feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate testing, data recording, and adherence to specifications.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, demonstrating the ability to manage and lead a quality control team.
