Materials Director directs operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Estimates material requirements using data and analysis of orders, inventory levels, economic trends, and supplier sources to develop long-range plans to ensure the required flow of materials. Being a Materials Director coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Materials Director typically reports to a director. The Materials Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Materials Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Key Objective: The Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by receiving product, pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. Installers depend on the Material Handler to ensure that the products needed for installation are well organized, easily located, and that the inventory of finishing products and trim are sustained. On time delivery and quality of output are critical to the company's commitment to provide a First Class customer experience.

    Primary goal:

    Loads the RIGHT products, into the RIGHT trucks, with no delays and under 15 minutes per truck. No crew needs to go to the shop or store to get what should have loaded, EVER.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Work with install crews to complete load out in 15 minutes per truck.

    Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
    Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
    Pull the right products for each order by reviewing the job materials sheets based on customer order
    * Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and finish tasks as assigned by Management.

    * Participate and maintain 5s initiatives. Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.

    * Clean, organize, and warehouse shop area and equipment including forklifts, trucks, and tools.

    * Receive shipments, examine product, and work with the Production Manager on any missing or damaged product.

    * The Material Handler is responsible for knowing what product is here, where the product is at in the warehouse, and whose job it is for.

    * Monitor the inventory of finishing materials including sealants and trim.

    Position Requirements:

    * Valid Alaska Driver's License

    * Clean Driving Record

    * Detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, able to work independently and as part of a team.

    * Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and receiving.

    * Maintain a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy.

    * Experience with forklifts and maintain forklift certification

    * Maintain a DOT card

    Education and Experience:

    * High School Diploma / GED

    * Minimum of 1-year construction experience

    Physical Requirements:

    * Able to lift 50-75 lbs

    * Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

    * Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
