Hilo Medical Center, a nationally-recognized “Top-Performing” hospital, has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Director of Materials Management (Administrative Services Officer I) to lead its purchasing, procurement, accounts payable and materials management operations. The Regional Director of Materials Management is responsible for developing and managing an efficient and effective materials management system for the region which includes ownership of the materials management and procurement software modules, managing corporate group purchasing activities, championing quality improvement, educating key internal staff; and serving as a consultant and troubleshooter for region facilities.
The Regional Director of Materials Management works closely and communicates frequently with leadership within the region and corporation to negotiate, recommend and select group purchasing contracts, a group buying program and a materials management information system.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or healthcare is preferred.. Excess work experience in procurement or any other progressively responsible administrative, professional or other analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: At least five (5) years of materials management/purchasing experience is required. Healthcare experience, including multi hospital system experiences, are highly desired. Supervisory experience or aptitude is also required.
