Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Technician to join our team. As a Materials Technician, you will be responsible for analyzing, building, and inspecting materials used in construction projects. Your expertise in quality control and data collection will be crucial in ensuring the integrity and safety of our construction materials.
Duties:
- Perform quality testing and inspections on construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, soil, masonry, and other materials used in the construction industry
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvement
- Collect and record data on material properties, strength, and durability
- Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Conduct laboratory tests to evaluate material performance and identify potential issues
- Assist with construction inspection activities as needed
- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is a plus
- Certifications: Preferred
- Proven experience in materials testing or quality control within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of concrete, asphalt, soil, masonry, and other construction materials
- Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret plans, specifications, andtest results
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, contractors, and suppliers
