May require a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Materials Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. • Develops Polymer formulation.
• Operates polymer processing equipment such as extrusion, injection molding, and 3D printing.
• Leads the commercialization of new products working with suppliers and customers.
• Guides new product and process qualifications for medical applications.
• Completes test method validations.
• Monitors the production process, identifies, and implements improvements.
• Manages equipment designs and improvement projects from concept to installation and verification.
• Provides complex statistical analysis of data using Six Sigma methodologies.
• Troubleshoots production and lab equipment issues and implements corrective actions.
• Write complex procedures and quality programs.
• Mentors’ employees and teammates.
• Assess regulatory requirements to implement proactive programs to ensure compliance.
• Implements of preventive actions to reduce quality or safety risks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
