Position Description - Materials HandlerCompany: Quality Steel CorporationReports to: Department ManagerKey Responsibilities:
- Ensure Safety First, Safety Always and meet or exceed Quality expectations.
- Inspect equipment to be utilized prior to shift start.
- Receive deliveries and count freight for correct quantities.
- Safely operate forklift and/or telehandler to transport received materials to designated areas.
- Log all material received and report any discrepancies to Supervisor.
- Maintain inventory in designated areas, efficiently organized, for storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support plant operation needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and mobile equipment.
Experience:- Experiencing operating a forklift and Telehandler.
- Minimum of one year of General Labor/Warehouse experience (Loading, Shipping, Receiving), preferred.
- Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, humidity, cold).
- Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to safely lift/move up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members to accomplish departmental goals and to improve operations.
Education and Certification Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift Certification, preferred.
