Responsibilities
Responsible for ordering, monitoring, and receiving supplies and equipment for facility.

Communication- Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
Financial practices- Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices
- Reports wasteful practices
- Analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements
Compliance program- Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the organization’s adopted compliance program
- Performs according to established compliance policies and procedures
Performance-improvement program- Contributes to the progress and development of the organization's adopted performance-improvement program, policies, and procedures
- Performs according to established performance-improvement policies and procedures
Safety/risk-management program- Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities
- Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy/procedure noncompliance to the safety officer or other designated person
Professional competence- Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences
- Shares knowledge gained in continuing education with staff
- Maintains membership in relevant professional organizations

Duties- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate vendors to obtain appropriate equipment and supplies
- Maintains current files, records, and catalogs for equipment and sales representatives who service facility
- Researches vendors to locate specialized equipment as requested by the medical staff and approved by the administrator/management
- Meets with vendor representatives to review new items available and changes in prices
- Understands responsibility in maintaining proper levels of inventory and timely distribution
- Places orders in a timely manner when requisitioned by various areas of the facility
- Monitors orders to ensure correct and timely delivery
- Supervises receiving area to maintain stores securely
- Demonstrates appropriate response to changes in schedule to avoid delay in providing equipment and overstock of inventories
- Reviews schedules well in advance to anticipate any unusual high or low demand for supplies
- Continually communicates with the clinical director and administrator regarding special procedure requirements
- Determines whether correct orders are received, tracks back orders, and rectifies incorrect charges
- Reviews all invoices for accuracy by coordinating packing slips and purchase orders
- Monitors back orders and communicates with accounts payable to facilitate accurate payment
- Reports any invoice discrepancies to administrator before payment
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate systems for the collection and maintenance of records and documentation pertinent to supplies, equipment, and systems
- Maintains current files and records regarding orders and back orders
- Reviews orders at specific intervals to determine delays
- Maintains and frequently reviews records of warranties and preventive maintenance requirements and contracts
- Maintains logs of linen supplies
- Maintains supplies and records for biohazardous waste management
Required- High school diploma or GED certificate recipient
- Training or courses in materials management
- Strong ethical and moral character references
Preferred- Experience in materials management
- ASC experience
