Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Central Vermont Humane Society is seeking a dynamic and efficient person to help care for animals, and join a team of people working with potential adopters to make positive matches, and to improve animal welfare in our communities. Excellent communication skills (with pets and people!) are required to join this hard-working team of animal welfare professionals!
Primary responsibilities are to enhance the welfare of all CVHS animals through excellent care, enrichment and training, humane and compassionate treatment, and adoption into loving homes.
You should love people as much as animals, be in shape to work a physically demanding job, be willing to work outside in all types of weather, have reliable transportation in all weather conditions, and a work ethic that gets you to work on time, every day you are scheduled! Your teammates and the animals count on you.
Typical schedule is 8am-5pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch, days of the week may fluctuate. Your schedule may include working on Holidays. Wage is $15.00/hour.
