Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Management Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Materials Management Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Management Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     About You:
    • High school education or equivalent. Prefer at least an Associate’s degree in Business or other related field.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel and others at all levels.
    • Working knowledge of shipping and receiving equipment to be able to set-up, operate and ensure proper quality is produced with that equipment.
    • Experience identifying and working with various packaging methods and freight vendors.
    • Ability to maintain workflow throughout the shipping, receiving, and parts picking areas to help ensure quality and on time delivery while working with the Production, Supply Chain and Sales departments to meet the customer’s needs.
    • Must exhibit strong leadership and sound decision making skills.
    • At least 4 years of related shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment including the preparation of international shipping documentation. At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.


    Primary Objective:

    To lead, supervise, and coordinate work activities within the Shipping, Receiving, and Parts Picking areas utilizing resources in a manner which ensures on-time delivery and is consistent with Company policies and procedures. To analyze, monitor, and maintain all process and procedures for parts picking as well as international and domestic shipping.
