MATERIALS MANAGER

SUMMARY:
To build and maintain a dedicated, quality conscious vendor network consistent with the needs of the business. The position is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials and transportation services as well as minimizing cost and maintaining inventory levels that are consistent with customer service and financial goals.

• Establish company purchasing and transportation policies, procedures, and guidelines ensuring observance of sound and regulatory and ethical practices and procedures for all company locations.
• Negotiate annual raw material, container, and transportation contracts as warranted.
• Responsible for the ongoing purchase of raw materials, based on information generated from daily MRP reports.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels for raw materials, containers, and products.
• Manage demand planning for stock products.
• Obtain approval for alternate sources of raw materials and containers to reduce costs or maintain supply.
• Maintain understanding of the various chemical and transportation markets and utilize this knowledge to support strategic purchasing and business objectives.
• Establish and maintain relationships with material suppliers, transportation companies, international freight forwarders, and customshouse brokers.
• Provide cost and service information to customer service, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with ERP systems

This position is a full-time position and is available immediately at our Cleveland, OH location.

Bachelor’s degree or applicable experience in purchasing, supply chain or related field. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
