Materials Manager manages the raw material planning processes to ensure an organization operates efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Manager utilizes MRP system to manage material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Develops forecasts for raw material needs by considering purchases, production rates, and maintenance schedules. Additionally, Materials Manager coordinates with stakeholders in purchasing and inventory control when adjustments are needed and troubleshoots complex issues as necessary. Maintains supplier relationships and may negotiate lead times. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Summary of Position: This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Materials Management & CMMS and supervise the inventory teams in West Texas, South Texas, and Oklahoma. The Materials Management Manager will liaise with all departments, as well as other stakeholder groups, to evaluate, prioritize and execute all Materials Management requirements. This role will require a strong understanding and proficiencies in Inventory Management and Inventory Accounting. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The following represents most of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies. As a Materials Manager, you will be responsible for: Inventory Management Supervising regional inventory teams and ensure adherence to SOPs. Maintaining accuracy between physical inventory and system. Making sure all stock parts and equipment required by stakeholders and replenished accordingly. Documenting all material movements and transactions within the existing inventory management program, in a timely manner. Securing control inbound and outbound flow of deliveries and pick-ups at internal inventory yards/warehouses. Conducting spot counts, monthly cycle counts, mid and year-end inventory counts while reconciling discrepancies. Maintaining yard cleanliness and organization. Managing third-party inventory (reporting, inbound/outbound movements, communication etc.). Inventory Accounting Managing and reconciling inventory accounts to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Cross-functionally collaborating with the accounting department to ensure adherence with internal controls. Coordinating with internal and external auditors to develop efficient controls, respond to audit requests and address audit findings. Conducting physical inventory counts and document results. Understanding of coding practices (spend categories, cost centers etc.). Managing PO/Invoice approval for Inventory accounts. Qualifications & Requirements: Must have an associate degree (a bachelor’s degree is preferred). Must have 3 years of relevant experience in Inventory Management (oil and gas industry related experience is preferred). Must have an extensive background and knowledge in Inventory Accounting. FIIX CMMS Software knowledge is a major plus. Have strong organizational skills and customer service experience. Be able to complete tasks with little to no supervision. Have the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and cross-functionally. Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Be able to strategically and prioritize tasks. Must have the ability to analyze information, situations, issues, policies, and procedures; formulate logical and effective decisions and / or solve obstacles. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions/Environment: Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment (when working out of the corporate, Midland, Texas, office). Operates in a warehouse and field environment (when working out of the field offices). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed. Specific vision abilities required by the job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Working after hours and weekends are frequent and will be evenly distributed amongst the Materials Management team. Position Location: Midland, TX (primary location) Must be able to travel 25% of time to field, warehouse, and yard locations.
