Opportunity
This position’s scope of responsibility will encompass all areas of material management within the Home Energy in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Expanded responsibilities include Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, Material Replenishment, Logistics including Receiving and Shipping, as well as serving as primary point of contact with purchasing buyers on procurement issues.
- SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Set the vision for the department and hold accountability for the performance of the plant materials team and production planning. Maintain established goals and objectives to monitor efficiency of workforce and control labor costs.
- Oversee and ensure proper production, material control, and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts while balancing labor and machine capacity Institute clear training modules to perform the duties of the job
- Act as liaison to the Customer Service and Master Scheduling team to provide fulfillment updates to our customers.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to oversee the purchasing or contracting of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the plant Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen initiatives to align and drive Kohler
- Operating System (KOS) strategies across the Materials department.
- All purchased and manufactured inventory including development and implementation of plans to achieve reduction in overall levels and achieve 4 inventory turns.
- Working closely with total facility material control to define and/or implement common processes that address the inbound and outbound logistics including definable cost savings
- Review and refinement of the current cycle count process to achieve 99% accuracy and support physical inventory activities
- Working in conjunction with purchasing continuous improvement action items and further expansion of existing VMI programs and act as liaison with the purchasing department
- Supervision of specific Material Control associates, to include directing day-to-day activities, development and reviews, as well as one-on-one reviews as required
Skills/Requirements
- Position requires a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field and 5 years of related experience. Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and project management techniques highly valued.
- Strong leadership, growth mindset, and interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must have direct people management experience.
- Capable of, and experienced in, working with different functional areas (operations, purchasing, logistics, finance, engineering, sales and customer service) and companies throughout the supply chain (customers, vendors, 3PLs, Joint Ventures and outsourcing suppliers).
- Exceptional Excel, Microsoft office, SAP (PRD & APO), Power BI, and analytical skills required.
- Must be capable of defining, analyzing, and resolving complicated problems. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Kinaxis experience is a plus

The salary range for this position is $89800 - $114100. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
