Position Summary: The Maternity Services Coordinator provides awake-overnight coverage for Vita Nova Maternity and Family Community. The position is responsible for conducting facility checks, facilitating crisis intervention, monitoring residents, completing paperwork, conducting audits of clinical records and ensuring the safety and integrity of Vita Nova and its program families. job description Roles and Responsibilities
· Conduct random and frequent facility checks, i.e., room searches, head counts, alarm checks, bed checks, etc.
· Provide shift up-date reports, verbally and in writing, to the next shift staff.
· Ensure that program families adhere to all facility program rules and daily scheduling requirements.
· Ability to meet the transportation needs of the community.
· Ensure all residents complete their required chores and that rooms are clean and maintained.
· Manage any crisis that may come during the overnight shift and make appropriate and timely reports to the Case Manager and/or the Director of Primary Care Services.
· Intervene and de-escalate volatile situations including physical aggression and property destruction utilizing Vita Nova’s Crisis Intervention Policy and techniques
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Minimum two years’ experience working in human services, shelters, non-profit services.
· Associate degree in human services preferred, social work, drug and alcohol counseling, parenting education, family ministry, healthcare, judicial system, nursing or related fields.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office computer
· Ability to manage crisis situations.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
· Must demonstrate attention to detail and an ability to discern discrepancies.
· Valid driver’s license and car insurance that meets Community standards.
Preferred Skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to interact with clients with sensitivity to diverse cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Additional Notes
Work Environment: May experience high stress, emotional situations with residents in crisis. Requires ability to manage situations calmly and effectively.
While performing the duties of this job, is required to stand, walk, and sit. Must be able to lift or move on occasion, 25 pounds.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
