Job Title: Director of Surgical Services

Location: Independence, MO

Compensation:

• Base Salary: $54.95 - $82.44/hour ($114,296 - $171,475.20 annually)
• Bonus: Target bonus of 15%, with potential up to 22.5% based on performance
• Sign-On & Relocation: Case by case

About the Role:

As the Director of Surgical Services, you will lead the perioperative team, focusing on safe patient care while effectively managing operations. This high-impact role requires an experienced leader who can oversee all aspects of surgical services, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide 24/7 oversight of all surgical services, ensuring quality patient care and operational efficiency.
• Team Management: Coach and mentor subordinates, facilitate individual development plans, and evaluate job performance.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement surgical services programs aligned with the hospital's mission, and oversee compliance with regulatory standards.
• Operational Excellence: Manage the department’s budget, prioritize capital equipment requests, and support new program strategies to expand patient services.
• Quality Assurance: Lead a performance improvement (PI) program to monitor and evaluate critical aspects of care, ensuring compliance with safety and procedural standards.
• Relationship Building: Build strong internal and external networks, fostering positive patient interactions and advancing the hospital's reputation as the OR of Choice.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3 years of recent acute care leadership experience in surgical services at the Director level (or equivalent). Must have experience in high-acuity, complex facilities.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Licensure: Active RN license in the state of Missouri or ability to obtain licensure prior to start.
• Certifications: CNOR (Certified Nursing Operating Room) and CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager) preferred.
• Desired Skills: Experience with trauma, cardiovascular surgery, and high-volume surgical operations is strongly preferred.
