Mechanical Designer jobs in Green Bay, WI
Mechanical Designer designs and creates layouts and documentation for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical building systems that meet project and technical specifications. Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and other specialized software tools to generate detailed layout plans, schematics, and drawings for mechanical systems. Being a Mechanical Designer maintains accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. Incorporates best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. Additionally, Mechanical Designer collaborates with engineers and other project members. May conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations or troubleshoot problems. May require an associate degree in mechanical design, drafting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Designer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. This position will be responsible for compiling layout drawings using primarily AutoCAD version 2021 for machinery installation. Knowledge of Solidworks would be very helpful. Most work is completed in 2D AutoCAD, the use of Solidworks is primarily for viewing, however the need is growing for this program. In addition this position will assist with machine upgrades and design detailing.
Requirements
- Must be able to travel throughout the United States, and possible international travel, up to 25%
- Associate degree in mechanical design
- Up to 2-5 years prior experience would be a plus.
- Candidates must be proficient in 2D AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Solidworks
- Good communication and organizational skills
