Looking for a Mechanical Designer for a Military & Defense company. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Required Skills:

• 7 years of experience including successful track record as a Senior Designer or equivalent.
• 3D Modeling CAD Modeling experience
• Experience in SolidWorks, Teamcenter, Microsoft Office Suite of Software
• Experience in implementing Engineering Changes (EC's) on hardware.
• Experience in Sheetmetal and Fabrication experience.
• Associates degree.
• U.S. citizen.

Additional Skills:

• Experience in Electrical/Mechanical Schematics/Diagrams
• Experience in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics/Diagrams
• Experience with Piping/Cabling
• Skilled in a Manufacturing Environment or DoD projects.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create 3-D CAD models and assemblies in support of proper design at the component or subsystem level.
• Work collaboratively with other Designers on the program to ensure best practices of solid modeling are properly implemented.
• Work closely with the assigned Engineer in the completion of the drawing package.
• Creates a variety of complex new product parts, assemblies, or systems using CAD systems.
• Draws multiple views; depicting relationship of component and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials.
• Compiles / prepares Bills of Materials and specifications.
• Drives compliance with engineering playbook including modeling and drafting standards.
• Creates documentation required and processes Engineering Change Orders.
• Ensures quality of drawings and functionality of equipment.
• Analyzes the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems.
• Provides assistance to lesser experienced Designers and verifying the accuracy of their work.
• Contributes to team efforts by working in a cooperative and supportive manner.
• Adheres to HDT’s quality and safety standards.
• Develops estimates for the team in support of multi-discipline BOEs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
