Mechanical Engineering Technician assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Estimates work load to establish completion dates. Being a Mechanical Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience with a focus on SMT process and support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Significant proficiency with computers and with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, CAD systems, Gerber translation systems, and Google Chrome.
Successful working knowledge of SMT Programming – MPM and Samsung systems a plus
Basic working knowledge of SMT assembly process
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic working knowledge of schematics and mechanical drawings
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Problem solving – Creative solutions to overcome production challenges.
Information acquisition – Methodically and systematically gathers data to make proper and comprehensive solution recommendations.
Data Analysis – Review data gathered to identify trends or indicators of problem events.

Organized – Must maintain a neat and clean work area.
Initiative – Ability to identify things that need to be done, follow CMMS scheduling, and handle tasks without constant supervision.
