Media Buyer is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Buyer uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Buyer collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Buyer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. SUMMARY OF POSITION: As an individual contributor, the Site Buyer will plan and procure material to meet internal stakeholder requirements at an optimal cost. The Site Buyer will purchase goods/services according to support customer needs, departmental and Procurement organizational agreements/contracts, and Marmon policies and procedures. This position performs the necessary strategic/tactical activities related to the timely acquisition of materials and effective flow of communication and associated paperwork. Performs necessary activities in accordance with Marmon/UTLX standard sourcing processes while providing support to Operations ensuring all metrics are met. Candidate will drive and implement process improvements, system enhancements and continue to improve productivity and efficiency within this function. Maintaining inventory levels, addressing shortages, and supporting product evolution are daily functions. This role is responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of our customers and the business. Functional/Technical Expertise Tactical creation and issuance of PO’s to approved suppliers based on ERP system demand Maintains accurate PO information and delivery dates in ERP system Set-up, execution and maintenance of ordering parameters and ERP data Work with suppliers and internal Marmon/UTLX resources to set up internal and supplier held Kanbans Ensure adherence to price and lead time established by contract Monitor supplier delivery performance, days on hand and related quality issues Monitor inventory levels to avoid potential excess, obsolescence and shortages Oversee inventory Policy through ABCD classification and use of proper planning parameters Adjust forecasts and planning parameters as required including safety stocks, reorder points, minimum orders, etc. in adherence with Marmon policy Participate in daily production and planning meetings Coordinate Engineering changes with suppliers, Material planning and Engineering for purchased parts Generate daily, weekly, monthly metric reports Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Materials Management Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills Critical thinking and negotiation skills Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations Proficient with Microsoft Office applications particularly with Excel Ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, ear protection and respirators Familiarity with consignment inventory, receiving and quality best practices WHAT WE OFFER: Benefits on Day 1 Medical/Dental/Vision Company paid benefits: Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance 4 weeks Paid Parental Leave Vacation Benefits 401k with generous company match and additional employer annual contributions DISCLAIMER Please note the duties listed are not set forth for purposes of limiting the assignment of work.
