Reports to the Project Director

Supports the work of the Executive Team under a comprehensive timeline to carry out healthcare coverage activities throughout the state.

Concentrates on building and maintaining communications plans and comprehensive social media campaigns to increase the public’s awareness of the goals and opportunities of the Program. Regularly updates HANM's website.

The key responsibilities of the position include:

• Assess the communications needs of the Program including all stakeholders and clients in rural and urban areas.
• Develop a communications strategy using various means to fulfill the communications needs of the Program.
• Assess the social media opportunities to advance awareness of the public and prospective clients.
• Keep present the reality that many of the prospective clients are Spanish-speaking and design and implement social media opportunities with appropriate messaging for prospective clients.
• Involve OSI to review messaging to be used in campaigns and involve the Director of Policy and Communications and the Project Director in this advance review process.

Qualifications:

• BA with appropriate experience designing and carrying out communications and social media campaigns in community-based settings.
• Research communications plans utilized by other healthcare providers to advance the public's awareness of healthcare coverage opportunities.
• Experience in implementing social media campaigns in healthcare and/or other areas of advocacy. Bilingual skills, English and Spanish, are valued.
• Needs to have dependable transportation (mileage reimbursement for work travel) and needs to have personal cell phone and data plan.
