About the Role:
As the brand lead for Reader’s Digest and its sister site, The Healthy, the Content Director is a transformative digital editorial leader responsible for overseeing the editors and writers who plan, craft and optimize written content for RD.com and TheHealthy.com. Reporting to the TMB’s Chief Content Officer/Digital and collaborating with team leaders across the organization, you serve as a driving force in growing Reader’s Digest and The Healthy into a digital category leaders, leveraging performance data, strong editorial instincts, and SEO knowledge to produce engaging, on-brand new and refreshed evergreen content to meet goals and budgets. You are organized and a clear and direct communicator who is always focused on the brand’s top priorities for its high-quality content.
About You:
A digital-first leader with exceptional SEO and editorial skills, you have an inspirational management style that builds confidence in your team and empowers them to work swiftly, smartly and collaboratively. You have experience developing SEO-driven content production workflows designed to scale and know how to prioritize resources and team time so that work is completed efficiently. You have experience managing a high-performing team and are willing to get hands-on to ensure processes run smoothly and continually improve. You love to dig into data to ensure that what we are creating delivers for the audience and helps us meet our key revenue, engagement and traffic revenue targets.
Highly collaborative, you foster strong working relationships within and across teams—making all who participate in your brands feel like valued contributors to success. You are adaptable and willing to take calculated risks and are as comfortable driving success as you are pulling the plug on efforts that do not deliver expected results.
