    As a PROGRAM MANAGER at the GS-0340-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Responsible for identifying and advising program and system teams as to the appropriate staffing for accessibility functions across the agency, which requires advising on skills and expertise in project management; IT governance; IT acquisition; accessibility testing and validation; use of assistive technology; compliance analysis; training; and communications.
    • Lead the 508 Compliance team of matrixed personnel to ensure their proficiency and ability to assist in managing complex agency-wide initiative.
    • Interacts with business partners and clients in a way that demonstrates concerns and problems are
      heard and builds confidence and trusted relationships.
    • Interprets and applies Section 508 and related accessibility laws, regulations, and standards across a broad range of organizational activities and business operations, including the procurement, development, maintenance, and use of technology.

    Qualifications

    You may qualify at the GS-GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

    A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
    • Advising upper level management in all Section 508 compliance and accessibility related matters; ie, overall platform operations and testing; information systems, planning, and policy development; regulatory and administrative compliance; logistics, contracts, procurement, and resource management; support staff and training requirements;
    • Synthesizing and evaluating programmatic and administrative issues which impact decisions at senior executive levels;
    • Assessing the readiness for change and identifies appropriate change strategies to enable adoption of Section 508 compliance program priorities.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
