Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. Key Qualifications:
Some office administrative/customer service experience in a professional medical setting preferred.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Positive attitude and willingness to work constructively with others
Excellent communication and multitasking skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the internet

Complete attention to detail and devotion to patient care, quality, and privacy.
General duties but not limited to:
Daily communication with patients and physician referral sources
Data entry
Insurance verification
Ensure and maintain appropriate documentation
Obtaining prior authorizations
Answer phones
Scanning/printing/maintaining patient records
Ability to assist with clerical, financial, and other general medical office operations.
To work in support of clinical operations performing medical office, billing, and clinical duties as may be required.
Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience:
medical office: 1 year (Preferred)
experience working in a sleep lab or experience with cpap equipment & supplies (Preferred)
