Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. Minimum Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

1 Organize and prioritize materials, appointments, and responsibilities.
2 Maintains information, reference materials, and appropriate policies and procedures issued by
Central Montana Medical Center.
3 Greet patient and obtain patient’s information for patient charts.
4 Take patient to room & obtain current reason for visit. Height, weight, blood pressure, etc.
5 Check medications & allergies
6 Inventory soft good, splints & supplies.
7 Assist with casting, suture & staple removal and changing dressings.
8 Complete performance check off list.
9 Completes other duties as assigned.
