Being a Medical Billing Clerk inputs and maintains all payment records in database or systems. Performs basic customer service for routine patient or other inquiries. Additionally, Medical Billing Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Billing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. 40-hour/wk position working with billing service for behavioral health providers. Duties include: data entry; telephone communication with providers, clients and insurance companies; insurance benefits verification and payment (EOB) processing; accounts receivable follow up; credentialing. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are important.
Work hours to be M - F, 8 am - 8 pm (hours between 8 to 5:30 is best).
