Southpark Psychology in Moline, IL is looking for a medical billing assistant to join our team. We are located on 2100 52nd Avenue Moline, Illinois

This person will be responsible for posting payments, investigating denied claims, correcting billing errors and preforming general bookkeeping and clerical tasks on a daily basis. This position requires communication with patients as well as insurance companies, Providers, and other employees. The ideal candidate will have experience in the area of medical billing and is committed to providing quality outpatient mental health services. 

Duties and responsibilities

Post electronic and credit card payments

investigate denied claims, calling insurance companies regarding denied claims

assisting with patient billing monthly

entering deposits in QuickBooks

Communicating with Providers on questions about diagnosis and coding

Communicate with patients regarding billing and collections issues

Answering phone calls, scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments.

greeting and checking in patients as they enter the facility as needed.

Medical Billing qualifications and skills

Medical billing  experience preferred.

Bookkeeping experience preferred

Experience with Quick books

 Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes

Ability to multitask.

Strong organizational and communication skills

Commitment to high level of customer service

Working knowledge of medical jargon

Strong computer and data entry skills

Working knowledge of HIPAA and a respect for patient confidentiality
