Being a Medical Billing Clerk inputs and maintains all payment records in database or systems. Performs basic customer service for routine patient or other inquiries. Additionally, Medical Billing Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Billing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Northwood Health Systems is currently seeking a full-time billing clerk. This billing clerk position will perform various duties, including but not limited to; collection of payments from primary / secondary insurance companies and patients, perform daily follow up on all unpaid balances, resubmission of incorrect claims, process various collection reports, post electronic and / or manual payments, transfers, adjustments, and write offs as appropriate to patient accounts, and assist with billing transaction corrections.
