Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the preparation of medical bills and invoices, the calculation of provider charges, and verification of patient insurance. Maintains insurance documents and contracts. Being a Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the submission of claim reports and filing procedures. Ensures billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, Medical Billing Supervisor evaluates billing processes and procedures and assists management in developing revisions. Monitors the revenue cycle activities and resolves any issues. Needs to be familiar with ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS Coding Systems as well as claim forms such as CMS-1500 and UB-04. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. What You Will Be Doing
As a Billing Supervisor, you will be responsible to supervise all phases of accurate billing of primary, secondary, and tertiary claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and all others, within the insurance timely filing limits, this includes billing initial claims, corrected claims and canceled claims using electronic and paper submissions. You will be responsible to supervise the credentialing process for healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with the administrative expectations of MDHHS and the PHIP. You will supervise the billing of clients based on the CCBHC sliding fee scale, the MDHHS Ability to Pay guidelines and the No Surprise Billing Act. You will provide supervision for assigned staff including hiring, training, monitoring, evaluating and disciplining. Remote work available.
What We Require
You will have a High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience in Behavioral/HealthCare billing to Third party Liability or an Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field; with 2 years’ experience or A Certified Professional Biller (CPB) from American Academy of Professional coders (AAPC) with 2 years’ experience. You will have the ability to work independently and conduct research to resolve billing issues. Supervisory experience strongly preferred. You will have a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing areas of responsibility.

Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
