Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating timely payments from insurance companies and patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as the ability to handle medical records efficiently. Look for someone with 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding. Pay is negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and ensure all necessary information is collected for billing purposes.
• Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and other relevant coding systems.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively.
• Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical office procedures and operations.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding, including familiarity with ICD-10 and DRG systems.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology related to various healthcare specialties.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Ability to analyze data and resolve billing issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Education

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification (Required)
• 2-3 years

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
