Alternate Work Shift
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has three outstanding opportunities for Medical Laboratory Couriers. The opportunities are:
Route 4, Full-time
Monday through Friday, 12:00pm 8:30pm
This route starts at the Northgate office complex and drives as far north as Edmonds and as far south Tacoma.
Route 5, Full-time
Monday through Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm
This route starts at the Northgate office complex, drives to Bellingham and returns to Seattle with stops in Mount Vernon, Arlington, Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline, and Edmonds.
Route 10, Full-time
Monday through Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am

Required Position Qualifications
Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Drives a university vehicle to transport laboratory specimens, laboratory reports, supplies and other designated materials between UWMC and medical facilities and laboratories within Washington State.
Works with biohazardous specimens. Must be vigilant about risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens through needle stick or spillage.
Transports lab supplies and related materials to client locations on an as needed basis.
Performs assigned route.
Exercises independent judgment in determining ability to accommodate clients' requests for additional service within the assigned shift.
Maintains accurate records of individual route stops and specimens transported.
Keeps assigned University vehicle clean, and fuel tank sufficiently filled per RLS Courier Group protocol.
Teaches and demonstrates tasks and shares job knowledge with trainees as assigned.
