Medical Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's medical policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being a Medical Director ensures all clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Medical Director advises non medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Medical Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    • The Director of Medical Staff Services is responsible for management of all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and department goals.
    • The Director ensures cost effective systems are in place to support the business of the department while considering business trends, resources and changes in customers’ needs.
    • This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians and employees, volunteers and vendors.
    • The Department Director works with senior management in meeting facility goals.
    • Independently conduct all Medical Staff related business and projects as necessary.
    • Coordinates activities/meetings, departmental and committee, of the Medical Staff.
    • Obtains documentation supporting each application to the Medical Staff.
    • Assists the CEO, COO, Chief of Staff, Medical Staff Departments and Committees when appropriate.
    • Coordination and distribution of all information required to maintain effective communication among the members of the Medical Staff.
    • Ensures compliance with all laws and regulatory relations to Medical Staff files and membership.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Post Graduate Degree (Preferred).
    • Knowledge of state, federal, JCAHO regulations.
    • Previous Department Director or Manager with at least 3 – 5 years’ of experience in role.
